PSAT Arrangements for your 10th or 11th grader

Many 10th and 11th graders will be taking the PSAT the week of the Summit. The test is administered by individual high schools on either Wednesday, Oct. 13, or Saturday, Oct. 16. Please check with your school, or check the PSAT School Search page at  https://psatordering.collegeboard.com/pno/public/search.do, to find out the testing arrangements for your school’s students. Please note that at this point in the year, you may see schools listed with an asterisk indicating that they are not giving the PSAT at all. The College Board has informed us that in fact the asterisk may mean the school has simply not registered yet; the school may be able to give further information to you directly. If your child’s school is administering the test on Saturday the 16th but you would like to bring your child to the Summit that weekend, there are two possible alternate arrangements:

1. Find a school in your area that is giving the test on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and contact that school directly to see if your child can take it then and there. Use the Advanced Search option at https://psatordering.collegeboard.com/pno/public/search.do to search by zip code.

2. Find a school in Cambridge that is giving the test on Saturday, Oct. 16, and contact that school directly to see if it can accommodate your child. As of June 2010, the only Cambridge school that has registered to administer the test on Saturday, Oct. 16, is Buckingham Browne & Nichols at 80 Gerrys Landing Rd. (617) 547-6100. Cambridge Rindge & Latin School is giving the test on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

We truly hope that you and your teenager will be able to attend the Summit, especially the special Admissions session on Friday, Oct. 15, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. You may sign up for this session on the Summit Registration Form. Thank you.
